The Fashion Palais – My personalised shopping experience
For those of you unaccustomed to Souk Madinat Jumeirah’s sartorial delights, I must also confess I am somewhat of a stranger to them as well, having frequented the fabulous venue for cheeky post-work wine and cheeses at stalwart The Agency, as well as the odd function at super club Pacha or an elegant dinner at The Rivington.
It therefore is a pleasure to stumble upon (or perhaps not stumble upon – be invited to) the exclusive boutique known as The Fashion Palais tucked away in a corner only a stone’s throw away from The Agency.
My good friend, Italian personal stylist Mariella Montanaro is currently based at the boutique, offering free, personalised consultations and style tips. It was a pleasure to visit her and have a sneak peak into the boutique, which stocks both French and Italian labels such as Sirelys Couture and Rinascimento, as well as the odd piece of Herve Leger can be found hanging on their racks. Lebanese designer Dany Atrache, whose garments featured in the most recent Arab Fashion Week season 2 in March here in Dubai, has his own devoted corner in the store.
Mariella has a wealth of personal shopping and styling experience, having lived and worked in Milan, and more recently, with Bloomingdales here in Dubai.
Using her palette of colours based on the seasons (and labelled ever-so-appropriately in Mariella’s native Italian), she chose the following outfits for my colouring:
The Fashion Palais stocks a wide variety of jewellery and accessories, my personal favourite being the Swarovski crystal-embellished clutch, which matched my Numbers are Sexy red lips theme perfectly! 🙂
The Numbers are Sexy clutch!
Head down to The Fashion Palais, shop 32, Souk Madinat Jumeirah (across the courtyard from Costa Coffee) and meet Mariella in person from now until the end of May
